As part of your search for a welding training program, you may wish to consider the following questions:
Courses at LJP Skills are 85% – 100% hands-on training in the welding shop. We are able to offer this high % of practical work by presenting our welding theory and blueprint reading units as home studies (with instructor assistance) vs. classroom sessions.
Yes – LJP Skills has been training and certifying welders in our commutable area for over 20 years and has developed many local welding company contacts. Employers regularly support our program by submitting job postings or calling the shop directly with openings for our graduates.
Courses commence every Monday, space permitting (continuous access). Once a student has met the admission requirements and received an acceptance letter, the start dates noted on the acceptance letter are guaranteed. Applications are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
Each course contains welding tests. These are detailed on course outlines and test fees are included in the tuition. The exception is if students wish to add welding tests not included in the course curriculum. A fee schedule is available for review.
Each student is assigned a welding booth and does not share welding equipment. Each student is required to provide his/her own personal safety equipment. An equipment list is identified on the letter of acceptance issued at registration.
Students receive resume development assistance and are notified of all job opportunities that come in to the shop. Students receive welding company lists by city/town to come up with a targeted job search. Faxing and email is available at the shop.
